Homework: Participants will bring at least one learning goal/learning outcome for one of the courses they teach to the workshop. Participants come to the workshop with either a new or existing course into which they will integrate materials developed during the workshop.

  1. Gain a working knowledge of different research-based active learning strategies that can be employed in geoscience classrooms
  2. Develop a plan on how to implement new teaching strategies into your own geoscience course(s)
  3. Identify how active learning strategies can support students historically underrepresented in the geosciences
