Employment sectors of NAGT members in 2021
Our members are educators in a wide variety of settings. About half of our members are employed in higher education, primarily as faculty and instructors. About 10% are employed as K-12 teachers, and about 10% are post-secondary students. A smaller proportion of our members come from other sectors such as informal education and industry, or are retired.
Gender identity of members in 2021
Just under half of our members identify as women, and about a third identify as men. A substantial proportion (about 20%) have not provided a response to this question in their member profile. 2021 was the first year in which we added the "non-binary" option.
