Description
The Wilkes University Geology Field Camp is an intensive, project-focused international course held on the island of Newfoundland, Canada, targeting the spectacular geology of the Northern Appalachians. Students travel across diverse locations, including Gros Morne National Park, Cow Head, and St. John's, to complete specialized field projects. The curriculum helps students develop crucial geoscientist career skills like collecting field measurements, compiling rock descriptions, measuring stratigraphic sections, and building geologic maps. Participants will also learn modern data collection methods by applying satellite and aerial imagery, as well as geophysical surveys.

Other Important Information
The Wilkes University Geology Field Camp offers multiple credit options because different home institutions require varying credit amounts to satisfy their undergraduate degree programs. Regardless of whether a student enrolls for 4, 5, or 6 credits, they will complete the exact same workload and curriculum. This flexibility allows visiting students to only pay for the specific credits required by their own university without missing out on any part of the field experience.
