Description

This field camp comprises four week-long sessions in the Four Corners region and San Juan Mountains of southwest Colorado. The exact topics and locales vary year-to-year, but always include some combination of field geologic map production (both bedrock and surficial mapping), structural geology and cross section interpretation, sedimentary section measurement and description. Digital techniques are incorporated some weeks, but emphasis is still on fundamental field geology techniques.

Other Important Information

Usually do 4 'hitches', where we leave Durango on Monday and return on Friday. Students usually have 1-2 days off between hitches, in Durango...so students from elsewhere would need to have accommodations during those 'off days' in Durango.
