Description
Students will focus on mapping and constructing geologic cross sections of well-exposed thrust structures involving foreland basin strata in southwest Montana. Through field-based investigations, students will develop core skills in geologic observation, data collection, and map construction.
Students will learn to measure stratigraphic sections, collect and analyze structural data, describe and identify rock units, construct geologic cross sections, perform basic structural analyses, and interpret geologic history from integrated stratigraphic and structural relationships observed in the field.
