Description
The Idaho State University Department of Geosciences offers a 5 week, 6-credit capstone course in field geology open to students outside ISU. The course is hosted at the Lost River Field Station, located north of Mackay, Idaho. Emphasis is placed on developing an individual's ability to observe, record, and interpret field relationships. Projects include a focus on sed/strat, structure, geomorphology-neotectonics, volcanology, igneous-metamorphic petrology, along with a 3 day excursion to Yellowstone National Park. Students prepare several complete geologic reports, including digital data and maps.

Other Important Information
Deadline for early acceptance is Jan 20th, but applications are accepted beyond January 20th until the class is full. All meals and a full time cook are included in the cost of our course. The course is hosted at the Lost River Field Station.
