Description

Our geology capstone field course travels through Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park, far west Texas, and northern New Mexico, where we will map well exposed rocks and structures in and near the margins of Rio Grande rift basins. We start and finish at the Sul Ross campus in Alpine, Texas. We will stay in motel rooms near Big Bend (because it's hot!) and will camp as we travel through New Mexico. A cook will travel with us, carrying a camp kitchen and feeding us. Lodging, food, and entrance fees are included in the course fee.
