Description
One of EWU Geosciences main goal is to bring field camp into the 2020's by supplementing traditional field methods with projects that are in-line with current professional and research skills such as: drones, geohydrology, soils, geochemistry, making interpretations from multiple types of data, critical thinking and collaboration with regional and federal scientists.
The first two weeks we will work on a number of community-based projects in the Cheney-Spokane region, ranging from bedrock mapping to estimating seepage from a perched aquifer with local hydrogeologists and assessing soils profiles in a carbon sequestration project. The second two weeks will include economic geology and bedrock mapping exercises based out of the historic Yellowstone Bighorn Research Association (YBRA) located in Red Lodge, MT.
