Whatcom Community College STEM Retreat

September 6-8, 2016
Whatcom Community College

Semiahmoo Resort

This retreat is an endeavor to assure that all faculty in the STEM division at WCC have equal access to time and resources for reforming their curriculum in a manner consistent with the Change at the Core (C-Core) grant goals. The goal of the retreat would be for participants to redesign some aspect of their course(s). This redesign may be as small as an activity or as large as a full course overhaul.

The C-Core grant goals are as follows:

1. Improve undergraduate STEM teaching and learning in participating institutions,

2. Increase the engagement and success of Underrepresented Minorities (URM) students in STEM majors, and

3. Create an adaptive model for improving undergraduate STEM education.
