Spring Trip and Annual Meeting - 2014

Please join us for the NAGT-Southwest 2014 Field Conference, May 30-June 1, in Arizona. We'll be visiting the Grand Canyon State by ...um...going to the Grand Canyon. Join us at one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World. This year, for funsies, we are teaming up with the FarWest Section to put on an amazing trip.

Here's the itinerary for our NAGT-SW 2013 Field Conference:
May 30, Friday – Meet at Mather Campground at Grand Canyon National Park. We have booked a group campsite; dinner/s'mores/camping provided; business meeting and general revelry.
Evening Talk: Our very own Laura Lukes will provide background on how to create a virtual field trip, so bring a camera!
May 31, Saturday – Breakfast/sack lunch provided. Hiking/Geologizing down Hermit Trail to Dripping Springs, 4 mile round trip. Dinner at Maswik Lodge, on your own. Campfires, stories of the day, more s'mores.
June 1, Sunday – Breakfast provided. Trail of Time, led by Kaatje Kraft. Get up close with representative rocks from the formations of the grand canyon as you walk through time. Rim hike, approximately 1.5 miles. Noon - adjourn.
Registration fees are an incredibly low $20!
No payment necessary until time of the trip!
Please note: registration DOES NOT include park entrance, dinner on 5/31.
Participants must make their own arrangements for transportation to/from Grand Canyon.
Registration will be open until the end of May, but to help us with planning we'd appreciate it if participants would register as soon as possible. Payment may be by cash or check (payable to "NAGT-Southwest"), and will be cheerfully and gratefully collected at the beginning of the field conference.
Of course, we always welcome NAGT members of other sections to join us as well.
