Membership in NAGT

NAGT supports the things you care about.
As an organization, NAGT can have substantial input into the establishment of science standards nationwide. NAGT has the status to advocate effectively for the teaching of scientific evolution and climate change, without additional or alternative requirements to teach religious or ideological arguments. NAGT sponsors online teaching resources like Teach the Earth, which are available to all educators. NAGT works to put together the education part of GSA meetings, and runs education workshops at GSA and AGU.

NAGT membership makes you part of a vibrant teaching community.
NAGT serves educators at all levels. Members include faculty at 4 year colleges and universities, faculty at two-year colleges, K-12 teachers, informal educators, and education researchers. This breadth of perspective helps to build a stronger teaching community. The NAGT 2-year college division, Geo2YC, provides networking and support opportunities for those who teach in two-year colleges and non-majors' programs. NAGT sections sponsor a range of workshops, meetings and field trips for members. NAGT sponsors workshop opportunities through CLEAN (Climate Literacy and Energy Awareness Network), InTeGrate (Interdisciplinary Teaching of Geoscience for a Sustainable Future) and Cutting Edge.

NAGT membership benefits you and your students.
The premiere journal for peer-reviewed research in our field, The Journal of Geoscience Education is available only to members. Our glossy magazine In the Trenches presents on-the-ground, usable curriculum and pedagogy, arriving in members' mailbox on a quarterly basis.
