Capstone experience: In order to be eligible for the fellowship program, students need to have successfully completed a capstone experience in the geosciences, which could include field camp, a senior research project or thesis, or similar experience that fosters synthesis and independent thinking. Please describe the capstone experience your nominee has completed. (1 paragraph)

Why this student: In addition to completion of a capstone experience, the fellowship program seeks students who show promise and for whom the internship could be transformative. The most successful interns are curious, flexible, have good foundational training, and an ability to work with a degree of independence appropriate for an advanced undergraduate. With these criteria and characteristics in mind, please describe why you recommend this student. (1 paragraph)
