Workshop Leaders
Stefany has worked with students and early career scientists for over 10 years to help them identify their interests and support their development as scientists. While at UIC, Stefany has taken advantage of informal and formal opportunities to connect and mentor students through mini-conversations in the hallway and longer-term partnerships that guide students in goal development and action planning. Stefany has served as a NAGT workshop leader for the past 7 years and is now organizing UIC's Diversity Facilitation Collaborative, a group of workshop leaders focused on diversity education. Stefany is also thankful for the many mentors and mentees she has been able to work with and learn from over the years.
Dr. Rademacher is a Professor at the University of the Pacific (UOP), a small comprehensive university in California's Central Valley. She was Department Chair of the Geological and Environmental Sciences Department for six years and has experience with interdisciplinary programs. Dr. Rademacher has a long history of participation and facilitation of NAGT workshops and activities, including the InTeGrate project, the Cutting Edge Early Career Workshop, the Traveling Workshop Program, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. She actively mentors both undergraduate and graduate students from a wide range of backgrounds and appreciates the mutual learning that occurs through these close interactions. Dr. Rademacher enjoys supporting all students in finding their purpose and building life-long networks for support.
