The Contributed Program, comprised of oral presentations, poster sessions, teaching demos, and Share-a-Thon presentations, provides a fabulous opportunity to share your work in different areas of the Earth Sciences and to learn from others. We encourage you to share your research, teaching ideas, and expertise at this event, which brings together researchers and practitioners working in all aspects of Earth education. Would your group or project benefit from face-to-face meeting time? Apply to host a Working Group at Rendezvous and benefit from the added value of attending the Rendezvous, including networking with other Earth educators, attending topical and pedagogical workshops, and disseminating findings in oral and poster sessions. Each participant in your meeting will receive a $20 per paid day registration discount!

Stipend Opportunities: Deadlines vary - Beginning April 1, 2024
Take advantage of stipend opportunities to offset the cost of travel and registration. Stipends for travel, the Preparing for an Academic Career workshop, and Review Camp are available by application; some workshops also provide stipends.
Review Camp: Deadline - May 3, 2024
Apply to participate in Review Camp to help peer-review the collections of submitted teaching activities from Teach the Earth and NAGT-sponsored programs.

Mentoring for Student Success - Online Workshop

Do you mentor undergraduate or graduate students in research in the Earth sciences, geoscience education research, or related fields? Are you interested in improving your mentoring skills? The online Mentoring for Student Success workshop is designed to equip mentors from diverse backgrounds with the tools and insights to support all students in being successful. We will discuss identity and mentorship, establishing expectations, communication strategies, and developing mentoring networks and development plans. You can expect a highly interactive, synchronous online workshop in which you will get to know and learn from your colleagues and the workshop leaders.

Are you developing a new course or revising a course you have taught before? The Course Design workshop will help you use backwards design to generate assessments and instructional activities that meet both content and skills-based objectives. This highly interactive, synchronous online workshop will provide time for you to build foundational knowledge of best practices for course design, share strategies and exchange ideas with colleagues, to work independently on developing your course, and provide and receive feedback from peers.
