INSTRUCTOR, University of Memphis. Memphis, TN. The Department of Earth Sciences seeks candidates for an EARTH SCIENTIST at the rank of INSTRUCTOR. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate level to include introductory physical geography (weather and climate and landforms) to support our introductory courses. The successful candidate will teach as many as four sections each semester, most of which will be at the introductory undergraduate level. The Department of Earth Sciences teaches seven introductory general education courses (weather and climate, landforms, physical geology, the earth through time, the human planet, survey of world regions and cultural geography). The position is a nine-month appointment with an opportunity to teach in the summer depending on need and may be renewed annually up to three years. A PhD in an Earth Science related field is preferred; ABD PhD candidates will also be considered.
