STEM Education Development Professor of Practice - University of Nebraska Lincoln

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (CASNR) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln invites applications for a non-tenure leading STEM Education Development Assistant Professor of Practice position in the Masters of Applied Science (MAS) program beginning in the Fall of 2016.

Primary Responsibilities: Develop a series of online courses to prepare the next generation of extension and non-formal educators; Teach three online courses annually at the 400/800 level that include earth system science and climate change content; Facilitate and provide oversight to MAS degree projects and serve as an advisor and/or supervisory committee member for graduate students in the MAS program; and Collaborate with other UNL staff to increase program identity, recruit students into the program, and create retention strategies.

Required qualifications: A Ph.D. is required. Candidates must possess expertise with earth system science and/or climate change and knowledge of modern instructional approaches and curriculum design related to both formal and informal settings; experience working with science educators on development, implementation, and assessment of non-formal science education programming; and be eligible for Graduate Faculty status.

Preferred qualifications: Experience in development and delivery of online educational programs; demonstrated ability to create scholarly, innovative, and high impact learning programs and tools that are learner- and assessment-focused; experience in advising master-level students; experience in recruitment and retention of students; and experience working directly with K-12 teachers and Extension Educators.
