The IPY 2012 Conference From Knowledge to Action is taking place in Montreal, Canada April 22-27, 2012 and will be one of the largest and most important scientific conferences for polar science and climate change, impacts and adaptation. The Call for Abstracts for oral and poster presentations is now open.

The International Polar Year raised the bar on science education and outreach. As part of this session, particular emphasis will be put on multidisciplinary projects that were highly successful in formal education settings during the IPY, and how these lessons and experiences continue to improve outreach efforts in schools into the future. Sessions will include evidence from case studies from a variety of educational areas.

If you led an outreach program during IPY in a formal setting, are working on a project that started during IPY and has carried on, or examined how lessons from your program can be applied to science outreach we invite you to submit an abstract to the "Teaching polar science: IPY and beyond" session.

The Conference program is available at www.ipy2012montreal.ca

Abstracts are due September 30, 2011.
