Description

Join fellow educators on a 7-day professional development course in the rainforests of Costa Rica's Caribbean slope. Learn progressive techniques for engaging with three-dimensional learning and meet other passionate teachers on their own journeys of discovery. By working alongside researchers and ecologists at EPI's Pacuare Reserve, and by helping species like leatherback sea turtles, you'll strengthen your curriculum in the fundamentals of science education: curiosity and real-world phenomena. Tuition includes in-country transportation and room and board.

COURSE HIGHLIGHTS:
- Work with leatherback sea turtles
- Study tropical ecology
- Connect and collaborate with a community of peers

What will you gain?

On all of EPI's Professional Development programs, we teach progressive, inquiry-based methods that will allow you to introduce more exploration into your classroom while still meeting those testing requirements. Best of all, we model the methods we teach. Our programs take you into the field. You'll work with scientists and wildlife. This is your chance to explore. You'll return to the classroom with a new set of tools, ideas, and lessons that will inspire your students. All trainings are aligned with the NGSS.

Who should apply?

This course is open to all levels of informal or formal educators; no application is needed to enroll.
