The Minorities Striving and Pursuing Higher Degrees of Success in Earth System Science (MS PHD's) initiative was developed by and for underrepresented minorities with the overall purpose of facilitating our increased participation in Earth system science. The program provides students with professional development opportunities, science exposure, networking opportunities, and mentoring relationships. For mentors, the program offers ongoing mentoring activities with a highly talented group of minority students who are committed to achieving successful science careers.

Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) is an inclusive organization dedicated to fostering the success of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans, from college students to professionals, in attaining advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM.
SEA Change is a comprehensive initiative from AAAS that implements a proven self-assessment process to effect sustainable change with regard to diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEMM at U.S. institutions of higher education.
URGEOSCIENCE – Unlearning Racism in Geoscience
URGE's primary objectives are to (1) deepen the community's knowledge of the effects of racism on the participation and retention of Black, Brown, and Indigenous people in Geoscience, (2) draw on existing literature, expert opinions, and personal experiences to develop anti-racist policies and strategies, and (3) share, discuss, and modify anti-racist policies and strategies within a dynamic community network and on a national stage.
