Past President: Christopher Roemmele

Christopher Roemmele
West Chester University of Pennsylvania

How have you been engaged with NAGT already?
I have served as President and Vice President, and Executive Committee Liaison.

How does your engagement in NAGT and other professional experience/expertise inform your goals as a leader in NAGT?
I am a teacher, and a teacher education, and I do educational research.  My experience as a K-12 teacher, teaching geosciences, working with pre-service teachers, and performing research I feel are an ideal fit for TED leadership, where we should have a dual focus in improving geoscience teaching at ALL levels, and advocating for more geoscience classes and programs at ALL levels K-16.

President: Bridget Mulvey

How have you been engaged with NAGT already?
I have served as the Teacher Education Division secretary/treasurer, vice president, and now president. I am running to continue in my role as president.

How does your engagement in NAGT and other professional experience/expertise inform your goals as a leader in NAGT?
I bring my experiences and expertise a teacher educator who continues to work in K-12 schools with students and teachers to NAGT Teacher Education Division work. My goals for the division and NAGT more broadly include continued diversified efforts to reach out to existing and new potential members to engage in resources, discussions and actions that will improve K-12 earth science education and  teacher education.

Vice President: Daniel Capps

Daniel Capps
University of Georgia

How have you been engaged with NAGT already?
I am a NAGT member and I served as vice president of the teacher education division from 2023-2024.

How does your engagement in NAGT and other professional experience/expertise inform your goals as a leader in NAGT?
I am an education researcher and teacher educator with research experience in geology and teaching experience at the K-12 level. My experience in these areas puts me in a strong position to serve in a leadership role in the TED division where I can help focus policy on issues important to this community including advancing teacher content and pedagogical knowledge and encouraging the use of best teaching practices.
