How have you been engaged with NAGT already?
I've been a member of NAGT since I first started graduate school, and have regularly attended the Earth Educators' Rendezvous (EER) since 2020. I am currently the contributed program co-chair for the 2024 EER. I also have been an active member of the Geoscience Education Research Division and have published in the Journal of Geoscience Education.
How does your engagement in NAGT and other professional experience/expertise inform your goals as a leader in NAGT?
As a geoscience education researcher, NAGT is where I find my community! I have benefited so deeply from the mentorship, companionship and support that I've received from other NAGT members. It would be an honor and a privilege to give back that support, especially now that I am in a faculty role. As president of the section, I want to support our community through networking events and through collaborative opportunities. I want to be sure that everyone can find their home in NAGT, especially our students, so that we can continue to learn from one another and improve the world of geoscience education!
