published Mar 4, 2014 11:16amWhitman College is seeking a visiting faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor of Geology. The successful candidate will offer courses in Environmental Geology, upper level Mineralogy, and Environmental Studies as well as labs/field trips for each course. This fulfills the standard annual teaching load of five courses. We seek candidates whose areas of expertise may include, but are not limited to, carbon sequestration, acid mine drainage, mineral resources, urban geochemistry, or environmental geophysics. Effective August 2014. Ph.D. required at time of appointment. All applications must include the following materials; letter of application as well as separate statements addressing the candidate's teaching interests and scholarly agenda; curriculum vitae; three letters of reference; graduate transcripts; and teaching evaluations or other evidence of demonstrated or potential excellence in undergraduate instruction. The application should address the candidate's interest in working at a liberal arts college with undergraduates, majors as well as non-majors, at all levels of instruction.
