Seeking Assistant Professor for Geology at Grand Valley State University

The Geology Department at Grand Valley State University invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-track appointment at the assistant professor level to start in Fall 2025.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a doctorate in Geoscience or Geoscience Education. Expertise in Science Education and potential for success in teaching and scholarship are required. Additional preferred qualifications include teaching experience with undergraduate students, the ability to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment, and potential to involve undergraduate students in research.

The Position

Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate Integrated Science courses in Earth and Life Science for preservice teachers and Geology courses for majors and non-majors appropriate to the applicant's area of expertise. Other assignments include student advising, active scholarship, and university and community service.
