Ocean Exploration Trust is seeking Educators, Ocean Science, ROV Engineering, Seafloor Mapping, & Video Engineering Interns to join a variety of cruises across 2024 in the Central Pacific!
About the Job
Paid internships for community college, undergraduate, graduate students, and recent graduates are available in ocean science, ROV (remotely operated vehicle) engineering, seafloor mapping, and video engineering through the Science & Engineering Internship Program. Interns will join an ocean exploration expedition on E/V Nautilus for 3-4 weeks learning alongside experts in the field and fully engaging as expedition team members. They will receive mentoring from mid- and advanced-career STEAM professionals and have opportunities to share their experiences as role models for global audiences through live broadcasts and educational outreach. The experience includes paid travel, travel per diem, and a $900/week stipend.
Paid fellowship opportunities for classroom educators, informal, and community educators are available through OET's Science Communication Fellowship.
Accepted Fellows will attend a science communication training forum in April 2024, collaborate with other STEAM educators, and sail as expedition communicators aboard E/V Nautilus for 3-4 weeks bringing the excitement of ocean exploration to students and public audiences around the world through varied outreach platforms.
