Visiting Assistant Professor of Geophysics

The Department of Geosciences at Boise State University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Geophysics, beginning August 2023. The successful candidate will teach up to four classes in the academic 2023-2024 year, including two of our established undergraduate and/or graduate geophysics courses (examples include Applied Geophysics, Geostatistics, Digital Signal Processing), as well as two graduate seminars aligned with the candidate's research profile and teaching interests. Boise State geophysics is recognized for its excellence in cryosphere science, volcanology, hydrogeophysics, and seismo-acoustics. Boise State welcomes candidates excited to foster new research collaborations while building a teaching portfolio within a Departmental community that values inclusive and equitable learning and scholarship.

A Ph.D. in geophysics or related fields is required. Preferred qualifications include: teaching experience in geophysical methods and computational techniques; experience or strong interest in supporting student success through use of current technologies and evidence-based instructional practices; experience or strong interest in supporting student success through an accessible, inclusive, and equitable learning environment; active research interests and productivity in geophysics or related fields.
