Assistant Professor of Instruction - University of Texas Arlington

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The University of Texas Arlington invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track assistant professor of instruction in broadly construed areas related to meteorology and environmental science. We seek a broadly trained meteorologist who complements the interdisciplinary nature of our geology and environmental science programs. While candidates from all sub-disciplines of earth and environmental sciences are encouraged to apply, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise to teach courses in weather and climate, introduction to oceanography, environmental sciences, and climate change. Opportunities for collaboration exist with departmental research groups in paleoclimate and climate change, hydrogeology, sedimentary geology, geochronology, environmental health and toxicology, and data science, and with other research groups in the College of Science, the College of Architecture, Planning, and Public Affairs, and the College of Engineering.

Our analytical strengths include the on-campus Shimadzu Institute for Research Technologies, an ultraclean laboratory within the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, and the novel Science & Engineering Innovation & Research building.

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in meteorology or a related field. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to diversity and equity in education through their teaching, and/or service. Candidates are expected to have demonstrated a solid commitment to excellence in teaching and service. Full consideration will be given to applicants whose teaching experience align with the meteorology, oceanography, and climate and environmental Science.
