Job Summary

Johnson County Community College (JCCC) is seeking a diverse pool of applicants to fill a full-time faculty position in the Geosciences Department. JCCC is committed to increasing the diversity of our college community.

The ideal candidate would be expected to instruct students in lectures and labs for Geoscience courses including Geology and Physical Geography. One-half of the teaching workload must be in Geology each semester. The ideal candidate would need to be able to teach in a variety of formats including face-to-face, hybrid, and online starting in Fall 2022. Teaching assignments could be any combination of face-to-face, online, or teleconferencing using software such as Zoom.

The ideal candidate will perform duties that are expected of a full-time faculty member employed at JCCC. Duties include maintaining office hours, serving on committees (department, division, and collegewide), developing and revising curriculum, developing and implementing assessment of student learning outcomes, participating in professional development opportunities, collaborating with faculty, staff, and stakeholders from across the College and community, and other duties as assigned. While not required, faculty are encouraged to travel for professional development (nationally and internationally), engage in grant and publishing opportunities, and be actively involved in independent research with students.
