The Geology Department, University at Buffalo, seeks an instructional faculty member (formal title: Clinical Assistant Professor 12) who is eager to play a key role in Department programs. The successful candidate will teach four courses per semester or engage in equivalent non-instructional duties, which may include service and/or administrative responsibilities associated with the Department's educational programs. The successful candidate will primarily teach courses related to sedimentary geology in the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. Opportunities (depending on interest and aptitude) include advancing pedagogy and scholarship through attendance at professional meetings and mentoring student research projects. This is a 12-month position.

The successful candidate will have earned a PhD in Geology or a closely related field, with a conferral date no later than the start of the appointment. Demonstrated teaching ability is required, as is the ability to lead field trips for assigned courses, and the ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Specialization in sedimentary geology or paleontology, university teaching experience and demonstrated computational skills are preferred.
