Education Outreach Coordinator and Liaison

Colorado State University has and opening for an Education Outreach Coordinator and Liaison who will serve as the primary liaison to the National Western Center focusing on program expansion and awareness while enhancing the relationship between CSU, the HEOC and the NWC. The coordinator will assist with furthering the mission of the NWC by developing and coordinating K-16 education and interactive learning opportunities for families from a diversity of backgrounds.

The position will serve as the point-of-contact for outreach efforts to promote the health and STEM disciplines through development, coordination and delivery of events, activities and presentations involving visits by schools and outside groups. A major duty will be to organize and prioritize requests for HEOC resources, space, technologies and faculty time. Other major responsibilities will include recruiting visitors to the HEOC from the region including the Denver-metro area and expanding partnerships and funding opportunities by working with the state legislature, state agencies, federal funding sources and non-governmental organizations and foundations. Collaboration with CSU staff at the NWC will be critical to developing coordinated educational programs that leverage the NWC facilities as well as the HEOC. Ongoing relationships with the NWC will need to be developed by interacting with the existing planning committees and developing constituencies. A vital function of this position will be ensuring an integrative collaboration across multiple CSU colleges and departments and the NWC. The position will work closely with faculty, staff and students across academic departments and will be a collaborative team member of the CSU STEM Center and the Department of Biomedical Sciences housed in the HEOC. Frequent travel to the NWC in Denver and to local communities will be required.
