published Oct 17, 2016 9:57amEmory University's Oxford College seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor tenure track position in Environmental Science to begin August 2017 (Emory requisition # 65862BR). A Ph.D. in a field related to environmental science and experience in teaching undergraduates is required. Advanced training in geoscience with field experience is strongly recommended. We are open to a wide range of disciplinary or interdisciplinary academic backgrounds relevant to field teaching in environmental sciences, geosciences, ecology, or related fields. Candidates with experience in inquiry-based teaching and student-centered learning are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will teach lecture and laboratory courses in introductory environmental science and geoscience for Environmental Science majors and non-majors, and have opportunities to develop an upper-level course and field courses. A new, state-of-the-art science facility, which houses the college's geological collection and is designed to promote student-faculty collaboration, scholarship, and innovative teaching in STEM opened in January, 2016.
