Come experience the majestic canyons of the Yampa and Green Rivers through Dinosuar National Monument on this Geoventures trip. The free flowing Yampa River spectacularly exposes structures of the Laramide Orogeny and stratigraphy of the Colorado Plateau.

The trip will focus on the geology of Dinosaur National Monument as revealed by the spectacular canyons of the Green and Yampa Rivers. The trip will highlight Colorado Plateau stratigraphy, the Laramide Orogeny, dinosaur fossils, and geomorphic landscapes created by river erosion and tectonic uplift. The trip will be targeted to college students and members of the general public who are interested in the geology of this region. Each day will begin with a morning briefing of what the participants will observe along with selected stops and hikes to highlight specific geologic features.

The trip price is $1495 for GSA members and $1650 for non-members. Interested parties should contact Gary Lewis at glewis@geosociety.org or they go to the Geoventures website which also has the trip itinerary: [http://www.geosociety.org/GSA/geoventures/home.aspx].
