Workshop on Teaching Large Classes at AGU
published Oct 22, 2012 4:03pmDear colleagues,
Please help us spread the word about an NAGT-sponsored workshop for faculty who teach large classes, taking place at AGU this year (on Tuesday, December 4, from 1-5 PM).
Effective Teaching and Learning in a Large Classroom Setting
Workshop leaders: Randy Richardson, the University of Arizona, and Carol Ormand, Science Education Resource Center at Carleton College
This active-engagement half-day workshop will focus on philosophy, strategies, techniques, assessment, and available resources on effective teaching and learning in large classrooms. In the current financial and education environment, many institutions are implementing larger classes, which present a unique set of opportunities and challenges. Participants will leave this workshop armed with research-based knowledge and practical advice from the leaders, the geoscience education community, and other participants about what does, and does not, work well in the large classroom setting. Cost: $25.
Register for this workshop via the AGU website. Although you can register at any time, advance registration will help us plan the program.
