The Sustainable Energy Award for High Schools

published Feb 3, 2012 11:05am
This year, the National Environmental Education Foundation is excited to offer a new award, with support from Samsung Electronics North America. The $10,000 Sustainable Energy Award will be presented to each of the top three high schools that can demonstrate how they have engaged students and teachers in school-wide energy savings through the creative and innovative use of technology. Applications are due February 10, 2012. Please see our attached e-blast and consider sharing this information with schools in your state.
As an education professional involved in school greening, we also wanted to make you aware of the many resources we offer K-12 educators and schools interested in environmental education and school greening. Our primary education programming is an online portal called Classroom Earth. This is a one-stop shop for educators looking for an easily searchable database of resources as well as information on grants and professional development in the environmental education field. Two complimentary programs include The National Environmental Education Foundation, a web portal with resources for environmentally-minded teens, and National Environmental Education Week, a week of environmental learning for K-12 students before Earth Day each year.
We hope this information is useful to you as you plan to participate in the Green Ribbon Schools initiative. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
