published Apr 6, 2015 4:03pmApr 9, 2015 - Apr 9, 2015
April 9, 2015
4pm Eastern | 3pm Central | 2pm Mountain | 1pm Pacific
The webinar is free but registration is required. The deadline for registrations is 11:59 PM April 7, 2015.
The K-12 Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) have created an exciting and forward-looking vision of Earth and Space Science (ESS) education. This webinar with Edward Robeck of the American Geosciences Institute will provide an understanding of the needs educators experience while implementing ESS portions of the NGSS, and provide opportunities for the ESS community to participate in meeting those needs.
Expressed needs may be categorized within categories of familiarity, community support, curriculum and instruction, teacher resources, professional development and assessment. A separate initiative is collecting a description of assets from organizations and the ESS community.
This webinar will be especially good preparation for those who will attend the Summit on the Implementation of the Next Generation Science Standards at the State Level (April 28 - May 1), and those who will give input into the summit through online discussions, social media, the asset survey, and by other means.
