1. Earth Educators' Rendezvous 2017

Next week (July 17-21) is the third annual Earth Educators' Rendezvous, held this year in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Many of you will be there and we look forward to spending a great week exploring all things geoscience education with you and the other participants.

If you aren't going to be there, be sure to follow the action on Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #eerendezvous17. And keep an eye on the Rendezvous website for the announcement of the location for the fourth annual EER in 2018!

2. Staff changes for NAGT and SERC

NAGT Assistant Director, Erica Zweifel, has taken a new position in Carleton College's Center for Community and Civic Engagement that allows her to bring together her experience with community and civic engagement with her passions for the environment, sustainability and equity. The Executive Office would like to thank Erica for all her work with NAGT members, executive committee, sections, divisions and collaborators. From awards to programs and beyond, she has been invaluable in supporting the work of NAGT and has been key to the growth of NAGT membership over the last few years. Her work and commitment to our organization will be greatly missed. Best of luck, Erica, we wish you well.

Even more changes are afoot at SERC... Rory McFadden will be moving to a faculty appointment at Gustavus Adolphus College in the fall. Many of you have worked with Rory on workshops, webinars, or research teams and can attest to the quality of his work. We will miss his strong understanding of faculty needs and his ability to design great professional development experiences. Thank you, Rory, and best of luck.

3. GSA and AGU Abstract Deadlines: August 1 and 2

Before you head off on your summer adventures, don't forget that the deadlines for submitting abstracts to the GSA Annual Meeting and the AGU Fall Meeting are August 1st and 2nd respectively. As always, NAGT has posted extensive information about sessions, workshops, and other events that will take place at each of these meetings on our website.

NAGT Members are a crucial piece of the education community at both of these meetings, so submit abstracts to share your work with the rest of the community.

And don't forget to stop by the NAGT booth at both meetings to say hi and meet other members and officers!
