Figure 1. Computational models, such as the STELLA Daisyworld model shown in this diagram, aim to help geoscientists figure out and describe how the world works. Components are identified and linked to explore quantitative relationships of cause and effect and feedbacks, evaluate system behavior, and make predictions.
