This is an online course that provides students, earth scientists, and engineers with a practical understanding of geophysical exploration. It features four separate learning modules on the use of gravity, magnetics, DC resistivity, and refraction seismic observations. By guiding students through simplified surveys, the course illustrates how concepts can be used in all surveys, from a simple civil engineering application to the most complex 3-D reservoir characterization survey. Each module follows a standard format of lecture notes and an interactive case study. Each module requires approximately 24 hours for students to complete.
