Lifelines Online - Curriculum and Strategies for Adult Learners: Integrating Information Technology with Problem-Solving Pedagogies

This article describes the need to emphasize successful adult learning strategies, specifically problem-based learning, in biology at two-year colleges. By 2005, the average undergraduate student taking biology will be 25 years old and attending a two-year college. The authors stress the use of problem-based learning as a strategiy that effectively builds on the prior experience, knowledge, and learning strengths of adult students.
