Santa Rosa Junior College

I am an Adjunct Faculty member at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, California, as well as a lecturer at Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California. I teach both geology and environmental science courses, including two relatively new climate change courses. Because I teach at both 2-year and 4-year institutions, I teach a wide range of students with different backgrounds and needs. One thing is certain, however, and that is that all of these students understand the climate crisis and are eager to learn more about it. Our learning module - A Growing Concern: Sustaining Soil Resources Through Local Decision Making" - allows students to really think about agriculture and soil loss in general and then to consider it as an impact of climate change. There is nothing like hands-on learning. I feel fortunate to have contributed resources to SERC, from whom I have obtained much more than I have given.
