NAGT Needs Your Photos

The NAGT Executive Director's Office is looking for members willing to share their geology-related photos. Generally, we are looking for images that can be used on the NAGT website as well as in publications. More specifically, we are looking for images from Colorado to use in the program for the Annual Meeting at GSA this fall in Denver.
If you have images to share with NAGT, just go to the upload form on the website and either upload your photo or give us the URL if it is already online (such as in a Flickr stream).

NAGT is soliciting nominations for the 2013 Robert Christman Distinguished Service Award. This award was established by the Executive Committee in April, 2008 to recognize individuals who have provided long, distinguished service to the Association at the national and/or section level. If you know of someone deserving of this kind of recognition for their work with NAGT, please nominate them.

This year's program will highlight topics such as improving workplace climate, using advisory boards, and effective time management. The program and registration form are now available. Exciting New Website Links Mount St. Helens Science to Classrooms around the World

An interactive, multi-media website is being unveiled by the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Mount St. Helens Institute in commemoration of the upcoming 33rd anniversary of the May 18, 1980 eruption (http://www.mshslc.org). The website combines photographs and scientist interviews to chronicle the story of 30 years of change and discovery in North America's most celebrated natural laboratory and classroom.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) have teamed up to create a water-cycle diagram for kids and elementary and middle schools. It is also available in Spanish and a number of other languages.

We are inviting all students from universities worldwide to participate by submitting an original, 30-second video ad on climate change.
