Background Information

I currently teach at both the University of California at Santa Cruz as well as Cabrillo College, the local community college. At UC Santa Cruz, where I have been since 1996, I teach Principles classes as well as other courses in the Business Management Economics degree. I also serve as the trainer for the graduate teaching assistants as well as a teaching mentor to Economics tutors and learning assistants. In addition, I teach Principles classes part time at Cabrillo College.

I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Maryland in 1996.

Related Pedagogical Projects

I have participated in the Teaching Innovations Program and am beginning to develop in the area of pedagogy and teacher training. At Santa Cruz, I instruct teaching assistants in best practices related to teaching economics and participate in developing the TA training program. As an instructor at both the University of California and a community college, I am particularly interested in understanding what methods work best in each teaching environment.
