Background Information

Greg Pratt is a member of the economics faculty at Mesa Community College where he serves as department coordinator for online learning. He completed undergraduate and masters degrees in Economics from Arizona State University. In 2009 Greg completed the Graduate Certificate in E-Learning and Online Teaching at the University of Wisconsin - Stout.


Greg has taught the introductory macro and micro economics sequence at the community college level since 1982 in traditional and, more recently, hybrid and online formats.

Related Pedagogical Projects

Greg is active with The Foundation for Teaching Economics and the Arizona Council for Economic Education. His work includes facilitating professional development for k-12 teachers, collecting data on retention and performance in economics classrooms and evaluating the use of problem based learning as an instructional tool.

Since 2008 Greg has chaired the MCC Online Economics Faculty a group that collects and analyzes data in online economics learning to better understand the process of online teaching and learning. This data has been used to integrate Quality Matters into the online instructional design of online and hybrid economics courses.
