Optional Pre-Workshop Events. Additional information about each of these opportunities is given here.
  • 8:15 am to 4:30 pm (note change: now an earlier start time and later end time). Note 8:00 am time for pick-up.
    Using Physical Models in Sedimentology, Stratigraphy, and Geomorphology courses - A Workshop at the National Center for Earth-Surface Dynamics at the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory , University of Minnesota (limited to those selected for this one-day workshop, APPLICATION DEADLINE for NCED workshop was June 14.
  • 1:00-2:30 - Introduction to the National Lacustrine Core Repository-LacCore Meet at the registration desk of Riverbend Commons at 1:00 pm to walk over to this session. The Limnological Research Center Lake Core Repository is on the -6th floor, underground, in the Civil Engineering Building. Walking directions are given on the pre-workshop events webpage.
  • 3:00-4:30 Using Effective Scientific Visualisations in the Geoscience Classroom Geowall. Meet at the registration desk of Riverbend Commons at 3:00 pm at to walk over to this session. The GeoWall exhibition will be in Ford Hall. Walking directions are given on the pre-workshop events webpage.

Friday and Saturday sessions in Coffman Memorial Union, Friday in the 4th floor Campus Club (West Wing and other 4th floor breakout rooms)and Saturday in the 3rd floor Mississippi Room and other 3rd floor breakout rooms. Saturday dinner will be in Riverbend Commons Club Room and Sunday sessions will be in the Club Room and other breakout rooms at Riverbend Commons.
